Family weekend i NYC

Last weekend we spent in New York City with Karsten, Anja, Louise and Mathias who arrived Friday night. Karsten and family hold this year summer holiday in the U.S., so they can participate in Trine's confirmation the 8 June, but also to vacation and experience the USA. For Karsten and children are the first trip to America. Anja has earlier years working in the U.S. as an au pair.

After having downloaded Trine prom left we saw Point of Rocks around noon. 22.00 and arrived at the hotel in New York City at. 02:30. It is therefore probably not completely avoided all was a little used that we meet the next morning for breakfast food, before we started our excursion. We agreed to take the underground to the southern point of manhatten from which but one boat can sail to the Statue of Liberty.

Vi besøgte Frihedsgudinden og Ellis island (which was immigration reception in the United States years ago). It intersante at Ellis Island and the history surrounding it is that we recognize many of the things which the immigrants went through in the 1920s from when we applied for a green card, Not Manget has changed since then, dog er processen blevet noget mere automatiseret 🙂

In addition to the Statue of Liberty, og Ellis Island, we visited Wall Street so they could see the stock market, vandfallet built with one of the 2 tårne stod “Ground Zero”, and more. It was a couple of eventful days and pleasant hours in New York City.

In the United States tvudsendelsen “Cake Boss” incredible poppulær and especially Sarah loves to watch this show, so for her it was special to see one of Buddy's stores (in background).

We also visited the park (Central park) where we surprise the girls fell a statue of H. C Andersen and the Ugly Duckling.
